What is Camfrog Mobile?

Camfrog Mobile is a simple to use program that allows Camfrog Video Chat users to stay in touch with their friends while staying mobile. Camfrog Mobile now supports instant messaging and voice chatting.

Camfrog Mobile Features

Camfrog Mobile allows you to exchange instant messages or make a private audio call with other Camfrog users all over the world. Camfrog Mobile runs or any PDA with a touch screen under Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 or greater.

Before Using

Before using overview

Before using Camfrog you need to set up a nickname and a password to logon to the Camfrog central server. After you have installed and launched Camfrog tap the "Create new profile" hyperlink. You will then be guided through a registration wizard. With Camfrog Mobile you can also use your normal Camfrog Windows/Mac nickname and password.

Registering for a nickname/password

Click on the "Create new profile" hyperlink in the sign in screen to register. Your profile information will be available on our Camfrog.com public website user directory. If you are already signed on under another nickname go to your contact list then tap "Menu" and choose "Sign out" to find the link to register another nickname.

General configurations

To see your general settings open main menu in your contact list. Choose "Settings" then you will see your general settings.

Profile configurations

To change your profile, choose the leftmost tab where Profile Viewer is located and click "Edit profile" hyperlink there. Want to update your profile photo? Try "Options" -> "Snap photo" menu. All of the information in your profile will be present in the public Camfrog directory.

Chat and IM overview

Camfrog is not only a videoconferencing service but it also has instant messaging, a contact list, and the ability to show your online status.

Send a message

To send a message to another Camfrog user go under the "Options" menu in the IM sessions list and choose "IM User…". Then type in the nickname of the person you want to message and tap "Enter nickname".
It's much easier for friends because you can just double-tap a friend in your contact list to send him a message. If you don’t know anyone to chat with try our user directory to find a live list of users.

Make a private audio call

To make a private audio call with another Camfrog user just tap the "phone" icon on the nickname of the contact you want to call in your contact list to start a call. If you are already chatting with the user you want to call, tap the "phone" icon at the top bar to make a call.

Status

You can change your status by clicking on your status at the bottom of the application window.
If you change your status to "Invisible" nobody can see you are online unless you add them to your Visible List in your settings. To add them to your Visible List go to your contact list then select Visible list from Menu.
If you change your status to "Privacy" nobody can IM you but only your friends who are in your contact list.

Contacts

To add a contact to your contact list go under the "Options" menu in the contact list and choose "Add Contact" then type a nickname. To remove a contact long tap on the name you want to remove and choose "Delete".
